48 Teams, 59 races, more than 800 paddlers are at the centre of this weekend’s 20th Anniversary ATB Financial Lethbridge Rotary Dragon Boat Festival. The Festival opens at 4 P.M on Friday with the opening ceremonies featuring the traditional lion dance to commence at 6 P.M
In addition, 26 bands and dance troupes will keep everyone entertained on the Festival stage, while attendees enjoy the delicious offerings of 12 food vendors, or enjoy a tasty beverage in the beer garden. For the young ones, there is KidZone, and for everyone there is a variety of vendors ranging from fitness equipment to vehicles.
This weekend is the culmination of months of planning and preparation by the 15 member planning committee and is possible because of the efforts of more than 200 volunteers.
